Good Morning, Good Morning! I’m reporting to all of you out there from a space that has likely been a beloved watering hole for each and every one of you over the years. A space with a panoramic view of the Cruz Bay waterfront from each and every bar stool and lounge table in the house. A space, once home a renowned $3 you call it happy hour, that now boasts deliciously fresh food and thoughtful craft cocktails with frozen drinks on tap. A space within stumbling distance from the ferry dock and sandy white shore of Cruz Bay. Ladies and Gentlemen, Rum Hut has undergone some incredible menu expansions and improvements over the past few months under the watchful eye of its new husband-and-wife management and culinary team. And, today, I want to shed some light on the amazingness happening in this beloved corner of your favorite island.

No Need to Leave Island to Find Great Sushi

I recently saw a post where somebody asked for sushi suggestions on St. John and almost every response was a St. Thomas restaurant. Don’t get me wrong – I love a good St. Thomas sushi adventure, but we are so fortunate to have high quality, hand-rolled sushi available to us right here in Cruz Bay.

In addition to their raw bar happy hour and their fresh seafood dinner, 1864 The Restaurant also has a sushi lunch Tuesday through Saturday from 11am-2pm. The menu boasts all of the exciting appetizers one would expect at an asian-inspired restaurant, including miso soup, crab rangoon, edamame, and potstickers. Beyond the nigiri and sashimi, the specialty roll section has unique and interesting selections.

Good Morning World! Wow…It has been a rainy week on St. John! A VERY wet Saturday followed by a semi-drizzly Sunday has this island so green and incredible right now! And yesterday we were able to enjoy it with a beautifully sunny (for the most part) Monday. But this rainy weather brings with it chilly temps in the 70’s (tee-hee). And what better way to warm up than with a deliciously warm coffee drink? Oh, and it’s National Cappuccino Day. So, I thought today might be the perfect time to introduce you all to the newest addition at Mongoose Junction…

Hello All! I have received a TON of updates and more information from different restaurants, so I wanted to take a moment today to re-share this list. As a reminder, please share the link to this article directly if you are attempting to spread the word. I noticed a few screen shots floating around that are now out of date. I’ll continue to update things here as more info rolls in!

Oh, I also added a link for each restaurant to their Facebook pages so you can double check before you stop by. The menus and hours can change in a day’s notice during the off season as owners decide to close for a day to give their staff a break, due to weather or the unavoidable WAPA outages

Coral Bay Fresh Market- Opening This Fall!

Happy Monday everyone! I hope that you all had a magnificent weekend! Things FEEL like they are slowing down a bit here on St. John, but the crowds of people with luggage in tow exiting the ferry over the weekend seem to be maybe proving my instincts wrong. But, this is typically the beginnings of our slower time of year. And, as businesses take the time they need to rest and recuperate from a busy year, forward progress and new things are also in the works for some of these well-known establishments. And, this Fall, a neighborhood boutique grocery shopping experience is coming to the Isola Shoppes in Coral Bay!

I spent the day yesterday in Coral Bay and, WOW…There are a lot of expansions, new openings and transitions for different businesses out there in the works right now!
