Kenny Chesney Says Goodbye To Quiet Mon Pub 1

Quiet Mon Pub has officially closed the gate for the final time after 26 incredible years. Many locals, tourists, and businesses have posted their goodbyes on social media. On Wednesday, country music star Kenny Chesney posted a goodbye of his own, which included a video of him singing inside of QMP as a tribute.

Major Music Fest Coming to St. John

country fest

Hey everyone, happy Friday! We’ve got some fun news to start off the weekend. For those of you who follow us on Facebook, you may have seen our post on this. But for those of you who don’t, here are the details…

There’s a pretty major music festival in the works for next year. It’s called the Love City Country Music Festival and it’s happening on May 14, 15 and 16.

According to the organizers, there will be 14 bands … four stages … and 22 beaches. They decided to hold the three day festival in May because of reduced flights and cheaper off season accommodations – smart thinking!

Now I don’t know about all of you, but I certainly hope Love City Country Music Festival plans to bring a certain country star who happens to be in love with our fabulous little island to this event. Only time will tell I guess…

In the meantime, start booking your flights and look for accommodations. Click here and here to read our stories on how to find the best airfare. And click here to visit our Island Information page, which contains a ton of info on accommodations.

On the Road: Maho Bay to Mongoose Junction

Today we’re taking a little cruise on St. John from the Maho Bay beach parking lot up North Shore Road and over to Mongoose Junction. Oh and we brought our friend Kenny Chesney along the way.

We promise this one will make you smile. Turn up your sound. 🙂

On the Road: East End to Maho Bay

Cruise with us from the East End to Maho Bay in less than three minutes. Oh and we brought a friend along with us – you may have heard of him. 😉

(Dear Kenny Chesney, please don’t get upset with us for “borrowing” your song. Love, Jenn)

Turn your volume up…

Kenny Chesney’s house is for sale

Aerial Greatroom Country Music’s biggest star has put his Susannaberg villa up for sale.  The price to live like a rock and roll star: $9.9 million.

The seven-bedroom, seven-bath property has a three-car garage, spa, and outdoor pool with a water slide.  Nearly 8,000-square feet, the house sits on 1.6 acres of hilltop off Centerline Road, overlooking Hawksnest Trunk Bay and the north shore. (The Google map above is showing the Susannaberg area, not specifically the house location.)

“Situated amidst and abutting preserved National Park lands, this exclusive family compound is only 5 minutes from Cruz Bay,” the listing says. “No expense was spared.”

Listing of the house is another move off island by Chesney. He’s previously sold other St. John property and this fall, for the first time in a few years, there have been no reported star sitings at Woody’s or anywhere else.  It’s become a tradition that when Chesney’s summer tours ended, he’d fly the band down to St. John for some active relaxing.  Not this year, so far.
