Good Morning everyone! Wow, have I missed updating you over the past little bit…A HUGE thanks to Jenn for taking the reigns while I took some time off to get Asante safely to Grenada for hurricane season 
I have plenty to mention to you about that amazing journey in future posts, but, for now, the long awaited seasonal closure “Restaurant Report!”

Yes, you read that right! The bars of the USVI are once again OPEN for seating! These words ring music to the ears of all of the bar tenders and bar sitters of these great islands
It’s a tequila drinking, taco eating, salsa dunking, mariachi dancing kinda Wednesday and the weather on St. John today is looking beautifully cooperative for a mid-day Margarita in the sun and sand.
If you’re on vacation on St. John right now, you might be thinking about where the best spot is for a little afternoon or happy hour fiesta. Well, there are quite a few options for those of your feeling festive on island for a tasty tequila libation, south of the border snack or simply a good time in the sunshine!
Happy Hump Day! And, we are halfway through the week! How’s everyone doing out there? Things seem to have calmed down a WEE bit on St. John this past week. Don’t get me wrong, it’s still super busy, but it doesn’t feel like we are bursting at the seams anymore. And, seemingly, the government imposed mandates in regards to COVID-19 have remained effective through the Winter and Spring Break booms. On Monday, Governor Bryan announced a few more small steps to loosen some of the current COVID restrictions in light of positive cases remaining low and vaccination distribution remaining high in the USVI.

Good Morning all! Today I want to share with you an amazing spot in “the country” where you can relax and enjoy the breeze…AND some amazing local cuisine!
A few days ago, I FINALLY made it over to the Lumberyard parking lot to check out the new food truck and pick up some of my favorite island cuisine for lunch. Abdue “The Roti King” Hill officially opened his food truck for business last Monday. And business, and the roti, has been very, very good.
Good Morning! I’m afraid I have some not so great news to share with you today. Many of you may have stopped by the popular deli on the third floor of the Marketplace for one of your favorite sandwiches or a beach breakfast to go. I know that Sam and Jack’s Deli has always been super high on my own personal lunch list of priorities. Today, I’m very sad to say that the pandemic and economic uncertainty of the past year and the foreseeable future has claimed a long standing favorite breakfast and lunch spot on St. John.

I have some news today that I am VERY excited to share with you all! You may be familiar with the beautiful courtyard nestled away in Cruz Bay that was once home to Rhumb Lines before they switched locations and moved to Coral Bay. You may also be familiar with Shaibu’s Gourmet Grab and Go in the Marketplace…A small space tucked behind St. John Hardware that offers quick, healthy and delicious lunch and fresh juices to go with an emphasis on local product and flavors. Well, those two worlds collided last week into an amazingly renovated space and global concept dining experience that you won’t want to miss on your next trip down!

I mentioned last week that I had been taking a few fun “field trips” to check out some new things happening around St. John. Well, I got the opportunity to tour the entire grounds of the newly re-opening Lovango Resort and Beach Club just after Thanksgiving. And I’m here to tell you that there is some truly exciting stuff happening out there!
