Call to Action - Our Donkey Friends Need your Help! 2

Hello all.  Unfortunately, I have some pretty upsetting news to share with you this morning.  Yesterday morning, a male juvenile donkey was found near the roadside after being hit by a car.  The incident occurred near the Coral Bay overlook on Centerline Road and authorities were notified in the early morning hours by St. John residents who were unfortunate enough to witness the aftermath of the tragic event.  This is the fifth donkey this year to have been killed by a vehicle on St. John.  One in a year is one too many, but five is deplorable.

Town and Country Magazine Features Love City! 3

Last month, a HUGE national publication featured St. John, and some of our favorite stops on island, in a lengthy travel guide style article with the tagline:  Everything you need for an idyllic stay on the hidden gem of the USVI.  The article shines a light on Love City as a “scene- stealingly gorgeous and unique destination” that you don’t have to travel halfway across the world to experience.  But, we already knew that, right? 🙂

Good Monday Morning to you all!  This weekend, Tropical Storm Grace passed well to the south of us and, aside from ferry port and restaurant closures, a bit of rain with rumbling thunder and the inevitable power outages, all was well in Love City.  I hope that you all had a beautiful summer weekend, wherever you are 🙂

Navigating St. John During a Busy Off-Season

Navigating St. John During a Busy Off-Season 7

Good Morning All!  I wanted to take a moment today to give you a little insight as to what’s been happening on St. John.  Typically, during this time of year, things are starting to quiet down a bit.  But not this year…Things are still bustling and booming on St. John as we enter the peak months of the 2021 Hurricane Season!  In addition to seeing a ton of people coming and going at the edge of the dock and witnessing the continually overflowing beach parking lots, I have spoken to a couple of restaurant managers and owners this week who reported full capacity numbers each night.  With dining establishments slowly closing their doors for some off season break time and weekend and holiday beach curfews in place, things could get a bit difficult as far as traffic goes.

Tropical Storm Warning in Effect for USVI and Puerto Rico 8

Good Morning All!  We have talked a lot over the past few months about what to expect while traveling to St. John during hurricane season.  Well, as of Monday evening, a tropical storm warning was called into effect for the USVI and Puerto Rico.  A weather disturbance, currently over the Eastern Caribbean, tracks south of St. Croix and could bring a decent amount of wind and rain to the territory later today.  But, “Don’t Freak Out!” Here’s a bit about what you might see during these tropical storm conditions and some pointers on what to expect and how to prepare out for rough weather while visiting the territory during the peak hurricane season months of August-October.
