How does pizza in the bay, a movie on a big screen and a fundraiser to help one of the island’s most beloved residents sound? It sounds like a pretty fantastic weekend to me.
Fundraiser for Grasshopper
Chances are if you’ve been to St. John, you’ve seen Inner Visions play. They’re a great reggae band fronted by Phillip “Grasshopper” Pickering. Grasshopper is a huge community supporter and is always lending a hand to help local charities. Well now it’s our time to help him.
Grasshopper fell ill earlier this year and his medical bills are mounting. So his friends here on island have decided to hold a fundraiser in his honor. The event happens tomorrow, Saturday, May 30 at the park in Cruz Bay, right across from the ferry dock. The fundraiser will run from 9 a.m. to 10 p.m. and will include a ton of live music, drinks, food and more. Be sure to stop by and show your support.

Pizza and a movie on the big screen in Cruz Bay? Yes, please! Our friends over at DR!NK (formerly Motu) are holding pizza and a movie night this Sunday. We’re still trying to nail down the exact start time but we believe it’s 7 p.m. We’ll keep you all posted. They’re still deciding on the movie too. You can vote for your choice over at DR!NK’s Facebook page. The four choices are: Dirty Dancing, Jaws, The Big Lebowski and Star Wars. See you all there!
