Conde Nast Traveler’s June issue is all about spas and self indulgence and pampering offered by hundreds of resorts around the world. The magazine reviews 270 of them.
St. John’s Caneel Bay resort ranks 9th on the magazine’s Top 25 Atlantic and Caribbean list. It scores 97.7 for location, and 91.7 for design. However, Caneel gets disappointing grades, scores in the low 80's, for rooms, service, and food.
Conde Nast likes one of Caneel's’ spa services: treatments in open-air cabanas overlooking the beach. The secret ingredient? Organic honey. A 50-minute Bee-utiful Facial “restores vibrancy to sun-drained skin,” and a Bee-utiful Massage includes “a honey foot wrap.” Each service is $145.
Having a scenery place like these makes you feel more comfortable while having whole body message.A total relaxation with coordination to nature.
Through the years whenever we visited for lunch or dinner there was an ever downward trend in the selection and quality of the food… disappointing, it had been so outstanding at one time.
So who made Numero Uno?
You mean the 1950’s decor the rooms is not so great? What do expect for $1,000 a night?
Serve ’em right. Arrogant is what they are, and for no good reason.
Guess they must have made some changes in the last 3 years because when I went there for a relaxing, spa atmosphere I received my massage in a very small room adjacent to the locker rooms at the tennis court. Not at all spa-like or enjoyable. Would never go back!
