Woody’s has gone ‘green’ for the health of the deep blue sea.
Wet Woody’s Boat Charters has linked up with the Friends of the Virgin Islands National Park to create “No Wake,” to alert people to the damaging effects that recreational boating can have on the marine environment.
“ Our business is taking the visitors on boating adventures to showcase the natural beauty our little part of the world has to offer,” said Kevin Burgess, the charter captain.
“We have to change our habits and make an effort to do what is necessary to protect the environment and preserve our paradise for generations to come.”
How does that translate to a day on the water? Wet Woody’s has eliminated the use of plastic on its boat, Bar-Tender. Drinking water and beverages are served in stainless steel reusable bottles. Wet Woody’s is also working on a natural sunscreen product that minimizes the damaging effects sunscreens have on the reef environment.
And at the end of each charter. guests are given a membership in the Friends group.
