Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! We are super excited to tell you all that the famous Coral Bay sign, also know as the “triangle” is about to get a pretty sweet makeover!
As you may know, the sign took quite the hit during Hurricane Irma. The fencing backdrop was mangled, and nearly all of the signs posted were lost. News of St. John had a small hurricane victory, as it was one of the only signs remaining following the storms. 🙂 It’s the little things these days…
Well a private donor has stepped up and is working to rebuild the sign. The Moravian Church, which owns the property, has also waived all advertising fees for 2018. So a big thanks to the church and to the generous donor, who has asked to remain anonymous. Here is a glimpse of what the new sign will look like. It will even be lit up at night!
If you own a business here on St. John and would like to advertise on the new sign, please contact the Coral Bay Triangle Sign Project on Facebook. If you previously advertised on the sign and would like to continue to do so, please contact the Sign Project. You will receive first priority. After that, spaces will be distributed on a first come, first served basis.
I would also like to thank BBC Electric and Paradise Lumber for donating their services to help with this project. Lastly, if you are a local artist or a contractor and would like to volunteer your services, please contact the Sign Project for information on how you can help
We will keep you all posted on the sign’s progress. In the meantime, have a great day everyone!!
I miss the old style mismadge of signs from before it got so organized and official.
I know what ya mean. Had a certain charm to it.
Very happy that Coral Bay sign will be there to greet me again.
What’s to stop next seasons hurricanes from taking down the new sign?
Oh, Redd, a new one will go up. Don’t be so positively negative! Chill, dude. St Johnians bounce back!
Right now it looks like a bingo game and I LOVE it!
Great news!
