Thank goodness Mama and Papa News of St. John are leaving island today because I’m not sure how they’d be able to last a few days without sipping on a few Bushwackers at The Beach Bar!
For all of you Beach Bar lovers out there (and I know there are a TON of you!!), we’ve got a bit of sad news. Our favorite watering hole will be closed for a few days this week – today through Thursday – but from what we hear, it’ll be worth it in the end. It’s expected to reopen this Friday and we’ll share all the details when it does.
In the meantime, there are several other spots you can head to for your beach bar fix. Joe’s Rum Hut and High Tide are also located in Wharfside Village right along the beach. Drink is also a great spot. That’s located across the street from the beach beside Grande Bay, and it has amazing views!

Yes. Saw on the Bar web cam that they have the floor torn out on one part of the bar. Thought maybe termites like pain killers to.
Thank God it was open a few weeks ago when we were there! We eat many of our meals there – good food at decent prices!
Yeah! Just noticed on their webcam that they are back in business! Was getting a bit nervous as we will be there in 16 days and 1 hour (but whose counting!). So, what’s changed? Please keep us posted…… can’t handle the anticipation!
