St. John food porn

Tage There are a lot of great restaurants on the island.  And with digital cameras making photography so easy, many of us have snapped a shot of dinner before we dined.  (Here are some examples via Flickr.)

Laplancha Odds are, however, your photo won't be as tasty as those made by a professional, like our friend Steve Simonsen.

When this long-time island resident isn't taking shots for the cover of Caribbean Travel & Life, or Kodak, or St. John Magazine, he does commercial assignments.  And restaurants are right up his alley.

Steve has posted dozens of photos he's taken at restaurants, both the living and the dead.  In a portfolio he's uploaded, you'll find shots from Sweet Plantains, Cactus on the Blue, Ocean Grill, Rhumblines, La Plancha del Mar,  Tage and Hinds. (The last two are now closed). Most of the eateries are on St. John, although there are shots from St. Croix's Restaurant Bacchus.
