Tropical Storm Rafael may have passed east of St. John, but it still made a mark – in the sky.
From his Coconuts villa on Gifft Hill, Kevin McCarthy captured this gorgeous sunset panorama.
He made three handheld shots with a Nikon D-5100 at ASA 400. He stitched them together with the free program, Hugin (download it here).
"If you zoom in the image, Vieques can be seen wide and flat on the horizon behind Great St. James, and that is Culebra in the notch to the left of a hill on St. Thomas," McCarthy said.
Totally breathtaking!
Could be the best one I’ve ever seen….AL
Wow….
we posted some shots too, from Bordeaux: stjohnsuntimes.com
Just returned from Big Sur and I thought that a majestic sunset that we saw there was “above and beyond”, but this image is life altering ~ the symbolism in this painting by mother nature is truly magnificent! Never mind the great work by the photographer! Thanks for sharing.
Is it possible to get a hi-res copy of this?
Joe: Thanks; I hadn’t thought to check for comments earlier. You can email me at [email protected] for a high-resolution version.
