Forecasters may post a Tropical Storm Watch for the Virgin islands in the next 24 hours.
Tropical Storm Ana is moving to the west-northwest with winds of about 40 miles an hour. Strengthening is expected in the next few days, according to the National Hurricane Center. Tracking maps suggest it will be over St. John Monday morning.
Meanwhile, Tropical Depression Three is close behind, likely to pelt St. John Thursday with winds around 70 miles an hour. Forecasters believe it’s possible TD3 could become a Tropical Storm Saturday night and grow into a Hurricane as soon as Tuesday morning.

Be safe St John, my favorite place in this universe! Batten down the hatches, head to higher ground and hang on to your hats! BOORAH!
Slightly off topic but related- I am sitting in Franklin A Powell Park now and can’t get a bench to sit on to get near Computer Express’s wifi signal b/c the homeless use these benches to sleep on. Doesn’t matter what time of day or night- I have to sit on the curb b/c they permanently occupy the benches and use them as beds. This is not a good thing for visitors just getting off the ferry – these benches should be for them. Let’s find another place for the homeless to sleep that isn’t in the main and only park right in town.
