New Food Truck Coming to Cruz Bay

For those of you who’ve wandered past the parking lot near the tennis courts lately, you may have noticed that the old food truck has gotten a pretty sweet makeover in the past few weeks.  We’re pretty excited about it, and we’re even more excited to tell you that’s it’s going to serve up its first dish this weekend.

Little Olive: Good Food with Roots will serve Mediterranean street fare that focuses on healthy, local and sustainable foods. It will initially serve lunch, but will eventually add breakfast to its menu. It will be parked over at the Bureau of Motor Vehicles lot, right beside the tennis courts and down the hill from the roundabout; however it will also be available for private events, according to owner Val Prakas. Val, who also runs the delicious Sugah Shack at Festival, said the business is a family affair.

Little Olive will open this Saturday as part of the Light Up the Night event. Light Up the Night is a community event created to help support cancer patients and to honor those who have lost their battle with cancer. It starts this Saturday at 4 p.m. at the Winston Wells Ball Park and will continue through Sunday morning at 8 a.m. Click here to learn more.

Little Olive plans to donate all of the proceeds from Saturday’s event to the St. John Cancer Fund. Here is what they’ll be serving:

Little Olive hopes to open officially by March and will also have other great food items like pesto grilled cheese, spanikopeta and baklava. We’ll keep you all posted on its opening date. In the meantime, you can check it out on Facebook at www.facebook.com/littleolivefoodtruck
