Love City Live Returns This Weekend!

By now, you all probably know how much I love to share good news. Well today is no different. I am so excited to tell you that one of the island’s hottest music events is returning this weekend after a one-year absence. And you know what? We could not be more excited about this!

Love City Live is coming back for the seventh time this weekend and will be holding events Thursday through Sunday. (Sadly, the event organizers were forced to cancel the 2018 event following the dual hurricanes.) Love City Live describes itself as being “a Caribbean-centric lifestyle brand born on St. John, US Virgin Islands; raised in Caribbean culture; and groomed by Roots Reggae music.”

“St. John is our home,” Love City Live states on its website. “The ocean is our playground. The beach is our refuge. Reggae is our soundtrack. One Love is our Vibe…Join us and Indulge.”

Here is a list of this weekend’s events, also dubbed Summer in January:

Thursday, January 24th: Hush Soiree
The official VIP welcome reception. Cocktail lounge type atmosphere, live DJ, top shelf bar & gourmet Caribbean hors d’ouevres by Oasis Private Chefs. This event is exclusively for Love City Live’s VIP clients and Summer in January VIP weekend pass holders.

Friday, January 25th: The All White Beach Party
Indulge in this upscale tropical dance party experience on the beach in Cruz Bay. The vibe is island chic, the tempo is pulsating, the dress code is “All-White.” This event runs from 7 p.m. to 1 a.m. There will be special return ferries to Red Hook (St. Thomas) after the event. Saturday, January 26th: Reggae in the Ruins featuring Romain Virgo
Let your hair down and enjoy this “Rootsy” one love Reggae extravaganza amidst the historic Estate Susannaberg Ruins. It will be a mystical night of live Reggae bands, featured local artist, local food, Ital/vegan food, island-style bars, arts & craft vendors and good vibes. Headline performance by international Reggae star Romain Virgo. (Chairs and blankets allowed, no coolers). This event runs from 2 p.m. to 10 p.m. There will be special return ferries to Red Hook (St. Thomas) after the event. You must purchase a ticket in advance for this event. Sunday, January 27th: The Powerboat Party
The PowerBoat Party!!!!…All ocean roads lead to Pirate’s Bight (Norman Island, BVI) for a mega beach party with live DJ!!! The boats departs St. John 9am “sharp.” Grab a space on one of the powerboats, sail your own or charter one and join us for an amazing day of beach, boating and one love vibes.     We’re back on island and so happy to be here. Re: Reggae at the Ruins. What’s the parking situation? Is there shuttle bus? We went on the ticket website but there seemed to be no info about that.
