Ike could become a hurricane tonight or on Wednesday.
“If Ike were to continue on its present path there is a possibility that outer rain bands and winds from this system could affect the Virgin Islands,” warned the Department of Disaster Management in the British Virgin islands. Meanwhile, the National Hurricane Center said Wednesday morning, “At the moment Tropical Storm Ike is moving west northwest but models are suggesting a slight turn to the south in the next 24 to 36 hours…positioning the system at about 300 miles to the north of Puerto Rico on Saturday.”
