Well folks, about a month ago we told you how the concessions were set to return to Trunk Bay. They’ve since opened – yay for that! – and to be honest, the place looks pretty darn good. We stopped by yesterday to take a few pics for you all.
But first, let’s talk about the weather. Temperatures this week are expected to be in the low 80s. I know that it’s pretty darn chilly up north, so now would be a great time to start scouring the web for some decent flight prices. But now back to Trunk…
As of today, the entrance fee is still being waived. From what we hear, it’s because the beach still does not have lifeguards. (None of the beaches on St. John have lifeguards.)
The new bar, food truck and retail shop are located to the right of the entrance if you’re looking toward the water. They’re right next to the old snack shack that was open in our pre-storm world. There is a nice variety of food and drinks being served. For those of you who enjoy having an adult beverage at the beach, you can make any drink “big” simply by paying an additional $4. And they even offer drink specials for those of you who live on island.
There is also a nice retail shop on site that sells everything from t-shirts to hats to sunscreen to water bottles. And for those of you who visited Cinnamon frequently over the years, you may recognize Ms. Gertrude who is working in the retail shop. Ms. Gertrude worked at Cinnamon Bay for more than 30 years!
How great does it all look??!!
The food truck, bar and retail shop open daily at 10:30 a.m. They close around 4 p.m. All three will be open until at least April. At that time, some permanent renovations of the old snack shack will likely take place. We will keep you all posted on that. In the meantime, have a great day everyone!
I watch every day for news of St John and everyone who I hope someday I will be able to call my neighbors and friends.
Credit cards accepted or cash only?
Hi, Jen! I’m getting married in St. John in May and your blog has been so insanely helpful just for figuring out what is open since the hurricanes and where new fun things are. Just want to say how much I appreciate it!
You’re welcome!!
I enjoy your articles and updates. I am so glad things are coming back. I need to check out those flights. In upstate New York its 17 degress with windchills feels like 5. My goal is to move there, have started looking at Deltec Homes.
This is exciting to see and wish they would still be open during our trip in May
On our way there SATURDAY! Hooray!
We just left St John (actually still driving from the airport). We spent the day on Trunk Friday, January 25 how did we not see this. Looks awesome guess we will just need to go back to St John to check it our.
If you took the main path to the beach, it’s easy to miss. It’s off to the right.
