There are four great events coming up within the next few weeks, and all are being held to support fabulous causes.
1. Woody’s Save Second Base Block Party – October 17th from 7 p.m. to 11 p.m.
The folks over at Woody’s are at it again and will hold their fifth annual Save Second Base block party this Friday. The event will feature live entertainment, drink specials, a ton of block party fun and a great raffle. And the best part – all proceeds will benefit the St. John Cancer Fund.
2. Animal Care Center’s No Fleas Please Flea Market – October 18th from 10 a.m. to 3 p.m.
No Fleas Please is the ACC’s annual island yard sale – from furniture to plants, there’s something for everyone.
The event will take place this Saturday at the Winston Wells ball field in Cruz Bay. One hundred percent of the proceeds will benefit the Animal Care Center, an organization near and dear to our hearts. We adopted Charlie, an adorable two-year-old Pit Bull/Corgi mix earlier this month, and couldn’t be happier! You can read more about our fostering experience that led to Charlie’s adoption by clicking here.
3. The 3rd Annual Dinghy Poker Run – October 25th at 10 a.m.
Now this is going to be a fun event. Participants will hop in a dinghy and cruise around St. John collecting five cards along the way. The person with the best hand at the end wins!
If you want to get in on the action, you must pre-register. You can do so up until Friday, October 24th at Noah’s Little Arks, which is right on the beach beside The Beach Bar, or you can register until 9 a.m. the day of the event at High Tide. The entry fee is a minimum donation of $25 and all proceeds will be donated to the St. John Cancer Fund.
4. Paddle in the Park – November 2nd at 9 a.m. (Check in for participants starts at 7:30 a.m.)
The Friends of Virgin Islands National Park will hold its 2nd annual Paddle in the Park standup paddle board race on Sunday, November 2nd at Maho Bay. The event will feature three courses – a 1 mile, a 3 mile and a 5.5 mile. All proceeds will benefit the Friends of Virgin Islands National Park.
