Fatty Crab chef brings home the bacon

Tune in the Food NetworkTuesday night and watch Corwin Kave, executive chef at St. John's Fatty Crab (and New York) win $10,000 and become the champion of the “Chopped” series.

Kave competed against three other chefs in an episode called Plenty of  Fish.  Tasks included concocting an appetizer in 20 minutes and creating an entree of Lutefisk, Hazelnuts, Pinot Noir, and Dried Lobster Mushrooms.

Folks posting to the Virgin Islands On-Line forum tipped the Inquiring Iguana to Kave’s success.  SusanNJsaid that seeing the show made her want to check out the restaurant.

Another viewer, Kay, wrote, “We also watched it and heard him mention he learned to make johnny cakes in St John. Hubby says Fatty Crab is a must stop on our next trip. Wonder where he vacationed with his winnings since he lives in our paradise!"
