Calendar Countdown: When Will the Ferries Start Operating?

So as you all know, the ferries still haven’t arrived despite Public Works Commissioner Darryl Smalls’ claims that they would start running “within 30 days” back on January 29. On Tuesday, we asked you all to guess when they would begin operating. Well, we took your guesses and jotted them down on this nifty calendar. Check it out and feel free to click through to see what others think:

In the meantime, here are some News of St. John Awards:

  • The most optimistic award goes to Donna who chose March 11.
  • The “I have no faith in the government” award goes to Michelle who chose a date of “early 2016.”
  • The best response award goes to Michael with “Let’s go all Blackbeard on them and take them for a joy ride. Free rides for everyone. Think they’d miss them for a few hours?”
  • The response that made me chuckle the most award goes to Don G. with “Shortly after one of the old ferries sinks at the dock.”

If you want to put in a new guess, leave it in the comments section and we’ll add it in.

  1. Stll no contract accepted by contract vendors nor federal government. Vendors have issues with vessel design, ride, passenger carying capacity and other issues. Vendors feel that these vessels are not suitable for the route.
