Planning for the traffic roundabout to be built on land formerly occupied by O’Connor’s Texaco is slowly progressing.
The Commissioner of Public Works, Darryl Smalls, told a Senate Committee hearing on St. John, “We have received bids and we anticipate an award will take place in April,” the Virgin Islands Daily News reported. He also said there are plans (Ah, yes, but is there money?) to improve and repair Gifft Hill and other roads.
Demolition of the Texaco station site is almost complete, he added. (Pictured above)
