We Want Your Pics & Videos!

Hello everyone and happy Friday! Today’s story really isn’t much of a story. Sorry about that! Instead, it’s more of a request… We want your photos and videos!

I was doing a little cleanup on the ole’ laptop the other day when I came across the video we created to show our eight-month post-Irma world. And you know what? It made me smile. I was in awe at all of your smiling faces and so very thankful to those of you who had the ability and willingness to visit the island so soon following the devastating 2017 storms.

Well it’s now nearly two years, and I am beyond amazed at the progress made on the island. I am also grateful for the thousands of guests who have returned. That being said, I would like to see your pictures and videos that feature you, your family, your friends, etc. If you have visited St. John since September 2017, please send your favorite picture or even a short video to [email protected].

If you plan to send an image or video or your post-September 2017 trip, please be sure to include the following:

  • Your first name
  • The month and year of your trip
  • Your home state
  • How many trips you’ve taken to St. John (this one is optional)

I am so excited to see what you all have! If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to us. Thanks all!

  1. Is there any progress being made at Cinnamon Bay Campground? The only thing I could find on-line was over a year old. We are hoping to return May or June.

    • You are correct. This is a blog. Here is our About Us section:

      About Us
Frank Barnako launched News of St. John back in 2004 as a way to increase exposure to his then-island rental. It started as a text email and soon morphed into an online website filled with news and information pertaining to the island of St. John.

After running the site for 9 years, Frank decided to focus on his photography and listed the site for sale. That’s where I came in. I had been an avid follower of NewsofStJohn.com for quite some time when I read that Frank’s website was for sale. I quickly jumped at the opportunity and officially took the reins in May 2013.

Since then, I’ve revamped the site to include more newsworthy items, as well as fun little island tidbits. But make no mistake, News of St. John is a blog, not a newspaper. Therefore you’ll see a little commentary by me here and there, and also some of my opinions thrown in from time to time. If I like something or someone, I will write about it. If I don’t, I won’t. It’s as simple as that. 🙂

I welcome any and all feedback, so please feel free to contact me at any time at [email protected].

  2. I have been visiting your site every day since we came home at the end of May. It keeps me connected to the island and you are very appreciated. We can’t wait to come back, thank you for all the effort and passion you put into this website. Have a great weekend in paradise.
