Puppies on parade at Wagapalooza

About 200 people and two dozen dogs turned out for the 11th annual Wagapalooza on Saturday.

The annual fund raiser for the St. John Animal Care Center drew dogs of all shapes and sizes and, of course, many breeds – often in the same body because many parading around the show ring were Island and rescue dogs.

The afternoon event near the National Park's headquarters in Cruz Bay was hosted by Sinbad, the nationally known comedian.

Many of the dogs in competition got by on their good looks, or cute costumes.  But a few tried to influence the judges more brazenly by licking their faces.

Bob Schlesinger of Tropical Focus Photography was on hand to chronicle the event and uploaded hundreds of pictures from the event. Click for Bob Schlesinger's portfolio of Wagapalooza, 2012.
