Hello everyone and happy Saturday! Guess what? There’s a new food truck in town! How exciting is that??!!
We have a ton of fantastic restaurants here on island, but that doesn’t stop me from getting all excited about a new option! The newest spot offering food and drinks here on St. John is called Grateful Grill, and we think it’s going to be pretty darn successful.
Grateful Grill is run by Sean Olson and Megan Prins. It’s a barbecue-style truck with several sides and both non-alcoholic and alcoholic drinks. It’s parked at the Coral Bay overlook on Centerline Road, so you can not only get good food, but you also have a fantastic view!
Here is a couple of pics of the menu we took Friday. We arrived around 3 p.m. and as you can see, several items were sold out. They’re open noon to 6 p.m. Tuesday through Friday, but you may want to arrive early to ensure you get the dish you want.
Oh and if Sean’s name sounds familiar, it’s because he won the St. John Rib Cookoff three times. Clearly this man knows barbecue. 🙂
Want to know the latest on the Grateful Grill? You can check out their Facebook page at www.facebook.com/GratefulGrillUSVI.
Have a great weekend everyone!
What’s the skinny on the marathon races set for next Thursday? We need to travel from Coral Bay to Cruz Bay before 10 AM–will Centerline be closed vis-a-vi 8 Tuff Miles?
Could not ask for a nicer couple, We wish Sean and Megan great success, two of our favorite people of Coral Bay.and cannot wait to try Seans famous ribs in May.
We have tried the ribs, pulled pork, and brisket and it’s all great, my favorite r the ribs which r over the top. You couldn’t find any better barbecue. Also Megan and Sean are really fantastic people and this food truck will be one of your favorite spots to eat on the island
Lee Peters – you’re supposed to be smoking your own ribs – we’ll smoke the brisket!
Sean & Megan – we wish you the best. Can not wait to return to STJ and partake. We’ve heard good things about your BBQ and I know it will be a favorite of Bruce’s. (BTW – Lee wants a side of mussels with his.) LOL
Another reason to return to STJ! Can’t wait to try this place!
How does the food truck co-exist with the bar at the overlook? Wasn’t the owner of that building being very difficult with people stopping to see the view?
Different location, you are thinking of Bordeaux Mountain.
This sounds good, can’t wait to try it! Maybe I can sit on that rock with a plate of ribs while enjoying the view. 😀
Congrats to Sean and Megan P! Can’t wait to chow down.
See you in the summer. Big hugs, Michelle
