The VI government hasn’t heard a ‘peep’ from the would-be developers of a marina in Coral Bay since they got a permit almost two years ago. Jean-Pierre Oriol, special projects coordinator for Coastal Zone Management, told the Coral Bay Community Council she will talk with CZM legal counsel to determine the marina’s status, according to a report by the St. John Source. A second announced marina, backed by locals including Robert W. O’Connor, is really dead in the water. Oriol said the group, T-Rex St. John, never even applied for a permit. Nor has there been a marina permit requested by the developers of the Grande Bay condominiums, despite rumors there are such plans.
