The Governor of the Virgin Islands issued a statement celebrating Barack Obama’s Presidential election victory.
“There is excitement at the possibilities that his election has made possible, pride that America has taken this historic step forward towards fulfilling its promise. All in the Virgin Islands rejoice in the moment. And so do I," John de Jongh said in a statement on his Web site.
The Governor added, in an e-mail sent Sunday, “It has been our honor and pleasure to host Obama and his family here in the Islands twice during his campaign. What a thrill it will be to have President Obama visit us again!”
