One of the absolutely best things about St. John is how the community – both residents and visitors – continuously supports charities here on island. Yesterday was no exception.
Hundreds of people gathered at Oppenheimer Beach Sunday for the Chaotic Kayak race, which raises money to bring wounded vets to the island each November as part of the Team River Runner program. The event was a huge success and the most profitable to date.
Any idea how much was raised??
More than $57,000! Amazing!!! (And from what we hear, there’s still money coming in!) So thank you so much to everyone who donated money or attended yesterday’s event.
Oh and for those of you who’d like to know who won – it was the team from Magical Ninja Carpentry. 🙂
Here are a few pics from the event:
PS: If any of you happen to see Ryan Major around town today, make sure you wish him a Happy Birthday. 🙂
That makes my heart smile!
