After several near-misses by tropical storms, the island has now escaped trouble from new earthquakes.
The latest shake-rattle-and-roll was felt from the BVIs to Puerto Rico mid-afternoon, Tuesday. It measured 4.6 on the Richter scale, about the same as a 2006 quake in Tajikistan which damaged nearly 10,000 homes .
In fact, there were two earthquakes yesterday felt in the Virgin Islands, according to the Puerto Rico Seismic Network.
One island resident, Linda Sorensen, told the St. John Source (full story) she felt the quake. It sounded like a train, and the house began to 'rumble'.
Glad no one was hurt! We experienced a 5.9 earthquake in Virginia several weeks ago. Strange and unusual, but I knew what it was because I had an experienced one earthquake before–while living in St. John.
Ah yes, many years in California, hang on folks!
it’s a sign of times. Matthew 24:7.
