Governor meets with Mayor Bloomberg

Happened early last month, in New York.  John de Jongh and Michael Bloomberg sat down to talk about "opportunities to further enhance education development in the Territory," according to a release by the Governor’s office.

They  discussed what was characterized as the strong connection between New York City and the U.S. Virgin Islands, including the vital role that New Yorkers play in the Territory’s visitor arrivals each year.  "More than 375,000 New York residents have visited USVI over the past five years and over 9,100 New York City residents were born in the U.S. Virgin Islands (2000 Census)," the release said.
