Happy Saturday everyone and happy October 1st! Do you all know what today is? It’s the very first day that you off-islanders can register for the 8 Tuff Miles road race. Not familiar with the race? Well let me tell you all about it…
8 Tuff Miles is a road race that begins behind the National Park Visitor’s Center in Cruz Bay and ends at the ball field in Coral Bay. The race is actually 8.38 miles, it starts and ends at sea level, and reaches an elevation of 999 feet along the way. It’s a pretty intense race if you ask us.
There are several water stations along the route, and yours truly mans the station at mile 8. The stations hand out water and Gatorade, and a few of us even bring along some adult beverages for those runners and walkers who need an extra push to finish. 🙂
This year’s race will happen on Saturday, February 25th at 7:15 a.m. The cost to enter is $60. Youths, ages 19 and under, are $15, and seniors 60 and over are $30. Click here to register.
