We Raised $200,000!!!

Hello everyone and happy Tuesday! We apologize for not posting information regarding our raffle and the raffle winner yesterday. We thought it was more important to share information on Tropical Storm Karen at that time. The storm will continue to affect St. John today, Tuesday. The island will get lots of rain and possibly some wind gusts.

Now on to the raffle…

Curious how much we raised? WellI can say that I was absolutely stunned when I saw the final dollars come through. In just two weeks, the Pay It Forward raffle raised $200,000! How unbelievable is that??!! And you know what, we all did it together. Such a wonderful feeling.

We’ve already sent $150,000 to All Hands and Hearts and asked them to use it for Bahamas relief We will send the remaining $50,000 as soon as PayPal releases the funds to us. That should happen later this week. 🙂

Now on to the winner…

As you know, we decided to raffle off one vacation package; therefore there was only one winner. Drumroll please…

The winner of the News of St. John’s 2019 Pay It Forward is Marianne Crampton of Maryland! Congrats Marianne!!

Marianne purchased 10 tickets and is a repeat St. John visitor. We are very excited to have her back.

In case you missed the drawing live on our Facebook page, you can view it below.

Again, thank you all so very much. This money will make a difference in the lives of so many. And maybe St. John and all of you can serve as an inspiration for the people of the Bahamas. If we were able to bounce back after Irma and Maria, they can certainly bounce back after Dorian. And this money will help them in that journey. Again, thank you all very much.

  1. Simply outstanding!!! It is hard to make a ripple individually, but when we work together…Holy Cow! what a difference we can make! Congrats Jenn on yet another successful raffle to help those that need it so desperately. Such an incredible show of love and support from all of those that donated things from lodging, charters, etc. Keep being a “Light” !

  2. Congrats Maryanne!!! I’m currently sitting at the airport after getting the opportunity to visit my beloved St John. I’m already a winner, until we meet again, next time my Queen will come with me again. We would love to buy you a drink St John Strong

      • Not to be thick but your Sept. 20th blog listed a number of prizes such as jeep rental for a week, gift certificates, etc. Were those not prizes? I understand there was one grand prize but did not understand that it was the only prize.

        • We specifically stated “one grand prize” in every post about the raffle including the September 20th post you referenced. It also stated in that same article, the “winner” not “winners.” I believe we were very clear in that there would be one grand prize and one winner.

  3. I visited the H&H office in Mattapoisett, Ma last week. At the time, the amount received was over $150,000. They were very excited. Having volunteered with them in the past, I know the funds will be well used.

    • I am so happy to hear that! We are simply waiting on PayPal to release the remaining funds so we can send them the last donation of $50,000. 🙂
