Two new pumper trucks are on the way to St. John. The Virgin Islands Daily News reported one of the new vehicles will be permanently stationed in Coral By. The second truck will serve the area in and around Cruz Bay.
A Fire Services official told the newspaper the addition of the two trucks means the island now has a fleet of a half dozen pieces of equipment for fire fighting.
Money for the trucks, each costing about $150,000, came from the 2008 VI budget as well as proceeds from a 2006 bond issue, the report said.
