Update: Beach Bar NOT for sale now

Is it time for the Inquiring Iguana to eat crow? Maybe.

A few days ago, II published a story here saying Cruz Bay’s popular Beach Bar was for sale.  The item was based on a listing he found at a well-respected business brokerage Web site, BizBuySell.com.

The article included a link to the listing … which is now unavailable. BizBuySell.com offers several reasons it's gone.

  • The business has been sold or removed from the market.
  • If the business was listed by a business broker, the broker may no longer be representing the seller.
  • The ad simply expired and was not renewed.

This follows a Web posting by Jane Kelly at Islandia Real Estate reporting she spoke with the owner of the Beach Bar about the story … and was told the Beach Bar is not for sale.

  1. $225k. One year break even almost $19k/mo. net profit. Three year break even almost $7k/mo. net profit. Assuming of course you pay in full upfront with no loan/debt/interest. Even at 50% margin you’re talking about selling a LOT of knick knacks.
