There’s a great event happening this weekend, which supports one of our favorite causes here on island – the Animal Care Center.
The annual No Fleas Please flea market will take place tomorrow, Saturday, October 24th from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Winston Wells Ball Field here in Cruz Bay. There will be a ton of items for sale ranging from furniture to household goods and more.
Speaking of the Animal Care Center, they just announced the date and location of their annual gala. The ACC’s Winter Gala fundraiser will take place on Saturday, February 6th at Sirenusa. So please, save the date!
Paddle in the Park
There are only a few days left to register for Friends of Virgin Islands National Park’s paddle board race, which will be held next weekend on Sunday, November 1st.
Regular registration runs through Friday, October 30th. Late registration will be held on Saturday, October 31st from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. at the Friends of the Park Store in Mongoose Junction. Before October 31st, paddle boarders can register by phone, in person and online.
The races will start and finish at the Maho Bay Pavilion and will consist of three concurrent courses:
- Short course from Maho Bay Pavilion to the floating fee station and back (about 1 mile);
- Special Kids Course within the Short Course for ages 12 years and younger;
- Open course from Maho Bay Pavilion to Whistling Cay and back (about 3 miles);
- New Elite course from Maho Bay Pavilion, around Whistling Cay, then around Cinnamon and back around Whistling Cay and back to Maho (about 5.5 miles).
The event raises money for projects that preserve and protect the Virgin Islands National Park.
