Hundreds of St. Johnians, and runners from the other islands, as well as the mainland are expected to race in next month’s 8 Tuff Miles, the road race from Cruz Bay to Coral Bay. Race Director ands Founder Peter Alter said, "If you’re physically able, there’s no reason not to do it if you live here." To which I would add, and even if you’re just visiting. The race is open to runners, joggers, lopers, walkers, and even kids in strollers. And it’s a great way to meet people who do live on island. Last year’s race saw 640 people cross the finish line. They ranged in age from 7 to 75 years old.
This is the 12th annual 8 Tuff Miles race. Gatorade is the primary sponsor again, but local businesses also support the event.

When is the “8 Tuff Miles Race” in 2009?
