Sun Times updates restaurant/activities guides

The St. John Sun Times is back with a new name and a broader editorial mix, but the same old price: nada.

After a summer break, Ella Anderson, her talented artists and writers have hit the stands with a November/December issue highlighting some of the newest and best of both St. John and St. Thomas.

While the Activity Calendar and Restaurant Guides for the islands are must reads for visitors, even locals will find something new in two stories focused on St. Thomas.

Thumb_cover-SJST_1_NOV12(FB)-page-001The cover story tells the history of STT’s ambitious Virgin Isle Hotel, “modern as tomorrow … (offering) every luxury and comfort known to man.” When it opened 62 years ago (!) there was no tourism industry in the VI’s.  All anybody knew was Bermuda.

The Sun Times also profiles a new business on St. Thomas, “Tree Limin’ Extreme.”  For a hundred bucks you can slide down six zip lines, guaranteed to “zip you into screams of joy.”

The dead trees version of the St. John St. Thomas Sun Times is available on island.
