There was a wedding reception at the Westin Resort Saturday night. The outdoor area that has hosted a freebie concert by Jimmy Buffet and Kenny Chesney was tented and decorated for a large group. Recorded music started playing at about 6 p.m., continued through dinner, then wrapped up about 9.
A drummer’s kit and some mikes were set up on a stage, waiting for the live entertainment. The group, featuring a soulful, rock-em-sock-em female vocalist, kicked off a short set, took a break, and then came back for some more – and wrapped up before 9:30 p.m. A budgetary issue?
Not much concern about pricing for budgets though at the Westin beach-side restaurant. A terrific all-you-could-eat l Italian buffet, featuring half a dozen salads, a dozen entrees, and four desserts drew several dozen diners while we were there. $36/a person.
