The Coral Bay Community Council plans a meeting next Monday at the Donkey Diner. Property owners are invited to bring copies of their new real estate valuations, "and share information to ensure (they are) accurate," according to an announcement.
Folks in Coral Bay have seen some of the largest increases in the territory-wide reappraisal.
The Council is hoping to gather data on properties sold since 2004, "so we can get a clear picture of Coral Bay’s overall property values, in reality and as reflected in this computerized valuation system." Implicit in that statement is a feeling that Bearing Point’s methodology was inappropriate for a small island with relatively little historical data from which to produce a generalize survey – much as Kayre Carney said.
