Starfish Market renovations announced

Starfish3
After eight years, Starfish Market figures it’s time to freshen up the store at the Marketplace Center.

"Thousands of customers have shopped at our market and eventually all that traffic takes a toll on the floors," said Nedra Ephraim, the store manager. "We will be upgrading our refrigerated cases and expanding our produce, dairy, deli, and frozen departments."

David Mugar, the store’s owner, said he had planned to begin the store face lift this year.  But he’s delayed it to next spring, to avoid the disruption that would have occurred in the middle of winter (high) season.

  1. It’s good to hear that they are doing well. I’ve been pretty worried about the impact of power and tax assessments with falling house prices on the STJ economics. People need their food! I just wonder how this season is going to run.

  2. Would it be possible to raise the temperature in the Starfish market, like NOW. I have noticed that it is extra cold, so cold that the employees all wear sweat shirts and my sun glasses fog up when I come back outside. This has nothing to do with the remodeling, but it does make me want to get out of there asap. Not so good for the business.
