St. John On HGTV Tonight

Dave and Julie

Back in November, we told you how our friends Dave and Julie were filming an episode of House Hunters International, the HGTV program that loves to feature our amazing little island. Well that episode premiers tonight and we hope you all watch it!

Here are the official details straight from HGTV:

Nine years after vacationing on St. John, where home prices run into the millions of dollars, Julie and David have finally saved enough to make the move there from Colorado. David wants a home with an open-air, Caribbean design, while Julie prefers a modern, contemporary home.

The episode airs at 10:30 p.m. EST and will re-air tomorrow at 1:30 a.m. EST.

  1. Agreed….St. John is a beautiful “little” island. However, it is being overtaken with greedy wealthy state siders……if you continue showing people buying up the island, it will be a “beautiful little island” no longer. I know of what I speak…lived is STT for 15 years, visited STJ frequently…..it was truly beautiful. I recently returned from a trip back to STT and STJ and I was appalled by the unsightly development and crowded conditions and astronomical housing prices I found on STJ. My heart was broken. Developers and greedy people are destroying a breathtakingly beautiful piece of Paradise.

    • Agree! It is heart breaking to see all the mega growth. It’s still a beautiful island & we will continue visit. But someone needs to stop all the unnecessary growth that is killing STJ. And as far as these shows go, we all know it’s set up to certain degree. I no longer watch these shows as it pains me to see another couple buying a gazillion dollar home & all the ammenties needed to maintain it, robbing the island of its natural resources. It’s nice to get a glimpse of places we all are familiar with on TV, but I have better videos & photos that I can look at any time I want. But the selfish growth is killing STJ. This is all said in respect to everyone.
