We heard the rumor about a week or so back, but now it’s official – The Tourist Trap is up for sale. Larry plans on hanging up his apron for good and retiring. So now it’s up to one of you to take over one of the island’s most popular lunch spots.
Here’s the listing:
“St. John’s Tourist Trap Restaurant, home of the infamous Lobster Roll. Given a Certificate of Excellence by Trip Advisor for consistently achieving outstanding traveler reviews. Ideal location near Salt Pond and Lameshur National Park Beaches, capturing locals and visitors alike for lunch and happy hour. Profitable business opportunity with demonstrated growth and potential for expansion. A great opportunity to own an established island business. Potential to also purchase living accommodations with business. Signed NDA required for release of financials.”
The Tourist Trap is being offered for sale for $250,000.
Diana Beam and ReMax is not the Listing Agent. All Realtors on St John “have” the business for sale. This is mis-leading information. Feel free to contact any agent you know or have been working with and they will be able to provide any and all information.
We hope who ever purchases it will keep the fun going. We will miss the New England ex-pat atmosphere that Larry helped to created. We also hope he enjoys his retirement.
My first reaction on seeing the headline was “Oh, No.”. But I known Larry wants to retire and take life a bit easier. I hope that who ever purchases the restaurant can retain the funky neighborhood hang out atmosphere and delicious food. I’ve seen too many restaurants fail under new ownership.
Any idea what the plans are for the on-site home and feral cat colony?
Can somebody give me a name of a real estate agent there…
Gretchen Labrenz, Cruz Bay Realty
Tammy Donnelly, 340 Real Estate Co.
Roger Harland, Tropical Properties
Diana Beam, RE/MAX
Joan Sparling, American Paradise
My agent, Tammy Donnelly is the best agent on island, she knows the island and her business never any pressure.
It is Larry’s vision and dream that made the place. The next owner will probably make small changes. Then the changes continue. It may be an improvement or a deration of the vision. In any case, it will be their business to do as they wish.
The only thing certain is change.
Great place to eat, we have wonderful memories of the Lobster Roll sandwich.
At $250,000 Larry is not looking to retire soon
I thought what Larry had been doing that last bunch of years WAS retirement!
