Popular Cruz Bay Eatery Closes

cafe livin
Cafe Livin’ dished up its last meal Tuesday afternoon and has officially closed for good.

“Don’t cry because it’s over, smile because it happened,” read a post to its Facebook page Tuesday morning.

Cafe Livin’ opened about four years ago just outside of High Tide in Wharfside Village. It was a super cute little sidewalk restaurant with great food and fantastic people watching. The owners improved the spot a few years back by adding a pergola and continuously added new, delicious items to its menu over the years.

Cafe Livin’ listed for sale in May 2014. No word on whether it sold, but it no longer appears on the MLS.

Cafe Livin’ was featured in the Caribbean Journal last October where it was liked to a French Caribbean or European “true cafe.”

We stopped by for our last meal and a mimosa Tuesday morning and it was delish. We’ll definitely miss it.

  1. Really sad to see Cafe Livin’ go. Bill is simply an amazing chef. Whether he is doing something a little more low key like Cafe Livin’ or fine dining. Really going to miss him. Wishing you all the best Bill!!!!

  2. My husband and I were there in March and are sad Café Livin’ won’t be there next year for us. Hard to find a nice little place for breakfast and people watching and this was a great spot. Good Luck and thank you! 🙂

  3. I was dreading this since the day you informed us Cafe Livin was for sale. Such a great go to spot for a breakfast burrito, iced coffee, rum punch/painkiler before heading down the northshore to the beaches or waiting for the last ferry home… Its laid back / walk up atmosphere was one of my favorite spots on island. I am happy that I was able to stop by a couple times this past May.
