One Month After Irma: Coral Bay to East End

I apologize that it’s taken us a bit to get this video out to you folks. We took this just one month after Hurricane Irma struck St. John. It goes from Coral Bay, along Centerline Road and out to the East End. It also features a little intro from Sharon Colder, president of the Coral Bay Community Council. Thanks Sharon!

Please note: We sped the video up the bit for the sake of time.

  1. Is there a video that goes all the way to the End of East End? We’ve stayed at Pebble Cove and with Will and Isabell Turner. Worried about how they made it through. Also is there any way for us to assist with boots on the ground stuff like clearing debris etc? We love the Coral Bay and East End area very much and have spent our April school vacations there for the past 8 years. Our hearts go out to your community.

  2. Hi Jenn! Again, thank you so much for that you are doing to keep us informed. I wanted to follow up with you on a couple of topics.

Has there been any more talk about voluntourism? I would love any information you would have on that.

Also, we usually stay in the ‘Upper Deck’ area. When electricity is restored to Cruz Bay, would the Upper Deck be included , or is that really only referring to just the shops and restaurants in Cruz Bay?

    Thank you!

  3. Maybe she couldn’t go any farther. There may have been an obstruction.
Jenn, I’m interested to know if anyone’s been able to get down John Head Rd. yet. I could tell from the helicopter video that La Jolla Caribe was badly damaged. That was our favorite place in paradise. I hope the owners can save the house or rebuild.
    Keep up the great work!

  4. Wow just wow! I can’t thank you enough for the updates, Jenn. We have our tickets for next June. It won’t be quite the same but it is still St John. We love it.

  5. Anxious to see East End to the end. Was the last house on the road for many years starting in 1969……hope you add another video, but appreciate seeing this one…..
