Hello everyone and happy Friday! Today we’d like to tell you about some nice changes happening over at one of our favorite barbecue spots and watering holes – Barefoot Cowboy.
As you may know, Liz and Steve Horner bought Barefoot Cowboy back in April 2016. Since then, they’ve incorporated some nice changes including a great menu upgrade and more. Well the Horners have more great plans in store…
For those of you who love the vibe at Barefoot, it’s about to get even better. The bar will undergo a nice little remodel this off season. When Barefoot reopens this fall (and no need to worry, it will only close for about two weeks most likely in early October – we will keep you posted on that), it will have an even nicer, larger u-shaped bar. The doorway to its covered, outdoor porch will be opened up which will allow guests a better view of the outside from inside, as well as a better view of the musical performers from the porch area.
Speaking of the music, Barefoot is really working hard to up its live music game. Liz and Steve just hired Lauren Boquette to work as the general manager. Lauren has spent the past 25 years working in the entertainment industry, most recently as the manager of the So-Cal band, the Wheeland Brothers. Lauren received a recording contract himself at the age of 24 and spent more than a decade touring, recording and working as a musician.
He visited Barefoot last winter with the Wheeland Brothers, and like many, immediately fell in love with the island. It was then that he first met Liz and Steve.
“In the perfect timing of Lauren’s visit to the island coupled with (our) vision for the next phase of Barefoot Cowboy, a powerful synergy was born that soon became undeniable, the Horners said. “Lauren’s vast knowledge of entertainment from helping create nationwide music festivals to night club management will bring a brand new twist to the Barefoot Cowboy.”
Barefoot is holding a welcome party for Lauren this evening, and Liz and Steve would like you all to attend. Aswad’s Fall is playing this evening at 7 p.m.
Barefoot Cowboy is located in the Lumberyard in Cruz Bay. Just follow the yellow footsteps up the hill and around to the back. 🙂
