New Fun Bar Alert: Abi

I discovered a new fun bar yesterday. It’s called Abi and it’s awesome!

I’ve heard rumblings about a new beach bar over in St. Thomas, but I hadn’t gotten the opportunity to check it out for myself until yesterday. Abi is located in Green Cay on St. Thomas’s south shore and is only accessible by boat. I’ve heard rumblings that there is a road that could potentially take you to the bar, but that it’s typically closed. From what I heard, it sounds like the road to Lameshur but much worse.

Abi’s been open just a few months and I have to say, it’s a pretty sweet little spot. It has a large bar area, cold drinks, great food, clean bathrooms, tons of lounge chairs, a volleyball court and a beautiful beach. Oh and there are even servers on the beach, so you could be as lazy as you want. It doesn’t really get any better than that folks.

I visited on Sunday and took advantage of Abi’s private boat charter. For just $25, I was picked up on the WICO dock in Charlotte Amalie, right between Yacht Haven Grand and Havensight. It was a quick 20-minute ride over and it even included free rum punch on the way back. We left at noon and returned back to the dock at 6 p.m. – definitely well worth the $25.

Abi’s owner immediately greeted all of us when we arrived on the beach and even gave us a free t-shirt. He was a super nice guy and is definitely running a great little spot. Flipswitch, which is a pretty incredible band, played all afternoon. Honestly, it was the perfect Sunday Funday.
