St. John chef a winner in Challenge

C_EricaMinerErica Miner, executive chef at St. John's Waterfront Bistro, placed third among six competitors in the 2010 Ultimate Chef Challenge.  Her winning dishes, as each chef's, included snapper and chicken. An emphasis on local ingredients was part of the test.  Papaya and Lemongrass were two of the makings revealed to the cooks at the last minute.

Miner took home $500 and a Versace salad plate, according to the St. John Source.

The six chefs, from restaurants in each of the three VIs and Virgin Gorda, were expected to cook two dishes within one hour.

Hemant Dadlani, executive chef at Little Dix Bay, was the first place finisher, winning $1,000 and an inscribed platter.  Second place went to Vincent Russo, executive chef at St. Thomas' Ritz-Carlton.
