Last minute St. John gift ideas

For the St. John-lover on your list (maybe yourself!), books and calendars featuring the island are a good idea.

Fortunately, St. John is home to at least two sensational photographers.  The best known is Steve Simonsen, a longtime island resident.  He's perhaps best known for his gorgeous landscapes and underwater photography, examples of which have been on numerous travel magazines.  Steve's so good … Kodak hired him.  This year, he is offering two coffee table books.  One features the US Virgin Islands, the other, the BVIs.  Both are $54.50.  A limited edition 2013 calendar is all about St. John and is priced at $24.50.

MangoThe other photographer is Old Mango.  He, too, is into landscapes, especially those featuring beaches.  Also known as William Torrillo.  His photography goes beyond pretty pictures.  Breathtaking is one word that comes to mind when you see some of his work from the BVI's and Great Cruz Bay.  Old Mango knows how to compose a good shot and then tweak it in post production to make it great. He's offering a calendar for $24.95.

EstrenElaine Estern's
annual calendar of watercolor prints is an island tradition.  Her "Corals and Florals" is priced at $25.  She also has available an extensive collection of 11×14 prints and original works available.
