The annual all-island dog show is tomorrow.
Late Saturday afternoon, dozens of puppies and dogs will parade and compete for various titles including Best Costume, Best Lookalike, and Best Trick.
Wagapalooza, the annual fund raiser for the St. John Animal Care Center begins with check-in of pooches at 4:30 p.m. The costume/talent show begins at 5p.m. The location is different this year.
The past few Wagas have been at the ball field of Sprauve School. However, with no trees around, it can get real hot for the dogs and their handlers. So this year, the show will be on the ball field adjacent to the National Park building in Cruz Bay, across from Mongoose Junction.
Wagapalooza is free. Besides the canine talent show, there's also a raffle, food and drink and even live music. Everybody has a "woofing" good time.
Of course there will be lots of photographers on hand. Here's a link to an exhaustive collection of images from last year's show, coordinated by volunteers and featuring the work of Yelena Rogers. Check back here Monday for photos from Saturday's event.
The Wagapalooza poster was created by Coral Bay artist Annie Caswell. T-shirts are available here, $20/each, two for $35.
