Happy Veteran’s Day!

daily stj veterans day 2014

We’d like to extend a huge thank you to all of the veterans out there!

The National Park would also like to thank the veterans and is offering free admission today only to Trunk Bay for anyone and everyone who would like to visit. So if you’re lucky enough to be on island, do yourself a favor and stop by one of the best beaches in the world.

There’s also a parade happening this morning over in Coral Bay – another great way to show the veterans some love.

Have a great day everyone!

  1. Thanks for the good wishes! Would love to be there for the parade today, but will be stuck stateside…113 days and counting until we get to return to paradise. Happy Veterans Day to all the STJ Vets!!!

  2. I’m not a veteran, but I have a very close connection to this holiday nonetheless. From its inception in 1919, through to 1954, this holiday was known as “Armistice Day”, and celebrated the end of hostilities in the First World War, which took place on the eleventh hour of the eleventh day of the eleventh month, in November, 1918. My father was there, when the guns fell silent on the Western Front, having led a very depleted company after the battle at Muese-Argonne. He was one of the lucky ones…

    All the best,

    Kevin
