The Governor and his wife will co-host an annual Children’s Christmas Party in the Cruz Bay park Wednesday morning. John and Cecile deJongh are expected to be on hand for what is the first of the parties which will be held on each island. Parties will be held Thursday and Friday on St. Croix and Monday and Tuesday on St. Thomas. There will be educational gifts for the children.
"At this cherished time of year, it is important to spend time with children and to remind them of the shared live of this community and the wondrous traditions of Christmas," the Governor said in a statement.
Later his month, the Governor will host a series of open houses at government buildings on the three islands. St. John’s event will happen on the 20th, at the Battery, beginning at 5 p.m. The Battery is the building on a hill, to the left of the ferry dock, as you arrive in Cruz Bay.
