The Love City Pan Dragons Youth Steel Orchestra is holding its first fundraiser in hopes of financing a trip to Antigua. The first fundraiser will be a Christmas concert held on Dec. 23 at 5 pm at the St. John School of the Arts. The Antigua trip was initially planned for summer 2020, but due to the pandemic, the trip was pushed off. Currently, the band has raised $16,000 of the anticipated $50,000 needed for the trip.

Good morning! Off season certainly dragged on, but we made it! High season is fast approaching, which means business as usual. Tourists are arriving to escape the incoming cold back home, and our favorite restaurants, annual events, and fundraisers are back in full swing.
This upcoming Friday, Friends of the Park will begin hosting their 7th annual “Villas for the Park” fundraiser. This unique auction offers nearly 40 hotels or villas, generously donated by their philanthropic managers and owners for an incredible vacation in paradise. Luxurious villas will be auctioned off and the proceeds will go to conservation efforts made by Friends of the Park.

The beloved St. John institution, Quiet Mon Pub, has officially announced that they will be closing the gate for the final time on Sunday, December 17th, 2023 after 26 incredible years.
Good Morning, Good Morning! Many of you may, or may not, be aware that America Recycles Day is just around the corner. On November 15, organizations dedicated to keeping America beautiful will celebrate, promote and educate for recycling in the United States. Which is great! But many, perhaps most, recycling programs around the nation are run by a municipality and/or government funded. Here, on St. John, we have even more reason to celebrate recycling. First, because up until just three short years ago, we had almost no recycling program at all. And second, we are now able to say “cheers” to keeping aluminum cans and select plastics out of our landfills. And for that, we owe a huge thanks to the CHARITY who makes sure we have the ability to do just that: Island Green Living.
